Birds

Since I've gotten older I have switched to something less strenuous than prospecting. Photography. We have a lot of birds in our area so we do a lot of driving and bird watching.

This is a Double crested Cormorant with 2 American White Pelicans. I was surprised that they got along so well. The Cormorant is spreading it's wings to allow them to dry. They don't have as much oil on them as a duck might.

I cant get over the clarity of your shoots at long distances. Back when I was in the service I had 2 Minolta XX SLR's and many lenses for those kinds of shots. BUT that was back in the day............Now with my small digital I'm seeing the advantages all the time on how you can crop the pic or go in or zoom out for that certain picture your wanting!
