Bill lives in the same small community that I do. Generally that is, since he has not been here much lately. I have heard from neighbors that he has been busy with a new brewing venture, but don't know that for sure.

A lot of the reason that many are not posting much any more is due to the sad state of affairs with mining being banned on the west coast. Many are depressed because of it. A lot of folks like me are getting so old that they think that by the time this all gets fixed they will be too old to do it any more.

I still do what I can, which is mostly cleaning out cracks with my VacPack, but even this is difficult when trying to navigate rough ground with a cane and trying to carry buckets and tools. This limits me to only carrying what I can with one hand and making more trips.

Jim, I think all of us are the same boat and that's not an encouraging thought. It's a shame that the government won't even follow the laws as written, but just write whatever rules that they want too.
Government is no longer of the people and by the people or for the people. Really sad.
Take good care of yourself.

:( Am I the only old fart on here that is still actively mining? Hope not. West coast is truly a sad state of affairs!

Yep it seems like you are . I haven't been out in close to three years now and I thought after I got my knee replaced that this would change but it hasn't! I still want to get out and dredge but I'm getting crickity old in the joints and it's getting tougher now! I'd like to go somewhere and try it one more time just to see what happens , BUt I'll probly put it all up on the block to sell after that!
