Todays hawks

Here's some of the hawks we saw today. We found a new nest site that had 2 adults and 1 small in it. Yesterday I saw a Bald Eagle.

Looks like these birds got with the program and bought into the high rent district and let someone else build their nest in "move right on in condition"!!

Great program used here for many years and woks wonders for their populations...but no cable yet-John

Well, one hawk and 2 eagles. The eagles were about 30 feet off of the road. Just across the road from them was a big pipeline construction going on. It was surprising that the eagles were there.

I have a Nikon Coolpix 900. I've had it about 6 months and I really like it. The wife just go out driving and bird watching. I use about 1% of it's features. Most of my pictures, like the hawk, are taken when I'm seated behind the steering wheel and with the window down.

I like Nikon cameras too, but that one sure takes nice clear photo's and it's color rendition is great also. Really hard to get bird eyes in focus. Especially hand held.

I use irfanview from irfanview.com to process the pictures. If you are inside and for close shots you don't need to do anything but I usually use a little color correction and sharpness on the longer shots. When I'm hand held I use shutter mode and 1/2500 shutter speed. It tends to make up for my shaky hands.
