Ka-Flush!!!!!!!!

That's the sound of my outlook 2010 departing my computer. They installed a security patch on my computer a week or so and it killed it. It wanted to have it fully re-installed but I can't find my original disks. I said "screw you" and downloaded Thunderbird. After fighting with it I have 2 of my email accounts working. Shouldn't take a lot to get the others going. The biggest problem is finding the passwords required. I'm getting to old for this crap. I just want things to work. I don't have the tolerance I used to have.

Shoot, I never did have that tolerance you speak of Leonard. I have resisted any type of online email programs since the beginning. I started out with computers in a educational environment that used Eudora as an email program. Even though Eudora is no longer available in its original form, I still have it in its free form.

This way all my mail as well as passwords are in my computer and I don't have to depend on some online source. Since this is on my computer, which is protected by anti-virus software, my email program is not susceptible to back door virus. I have heard in the past that Outlook has been a conduit for back door virus.

One of the things I miss since I retired is the computer guru's that worked for me. If I had a problem, they could fix it. If I hauled my computer 50 miles back to work they would still fix it for my but thats almost more work then fixing it my self. There is a computer store in Loveland that is reasonable when things completely quit. Luckily I've only had to use them once.

The worst thing about switching is so far I've lost all my email addresses. There is supposed to be programs that will read the outlook pst's but I haven't gotten that desperate yet.
