Hello from Idaho

Most of the claims i travel to are from 90 minutes to 4 hours, so far. I moved to Idaho in 2007 and love it. I don't like the seasons in the spots I can mine. The seasons are really short here and in my opinion not worth the drive from other states unless it's at least open for 90 days. I have one claim I can only work for 30 days and another the season is 45 ndays. I was used to the 5 months I had on my claim in California. The gold in the are I mine is real fine. I work more in the south western part of the state. The northern part gets bigger gold and in some area's a longer season.
As for Leonards short trip to his claim, don't be fooled, he travels all over this country and Alaska just to mine and be around friends. Gold is not Leonards objective, helping and being around friends is.

Yep Chuck life is to short to sweat the small stuff! dont get me wrong, i love to dredge.but its best done amoung friends!

Whats really priceless is to see someone who hasn't dredged in quite a while get back in the water and really enjoy himself. I've never found enough gold to call myself a "real prospector" but I usually find some. Thats my goal. Just some color. I'm lucky, I don't need any money from gold. I have everything I have ever found that I haven't lost or given away. My real gold is after the day winds down and we are sitting around a campfire. Thats the time that I really treasure. As I get older, I require a lot less water time and more "camp" time.

I'd like to invite anyone that wants to come to Douglas Creek over the 4th of July. I will be arriving June 25th for amatuer radio field day that weekend and be there until around the 10th of July. BThe claim is best for dredging but no one has ever done any highbanking. You come, we'll do our best to help you find gold. It's a private claim so it won't cost you any membership fee and the camping is free.

BUT please check Wyomings dredgeing/mining regulations. theres no permit, but you need to send Wyoming your contact info/where/when/what with ,all that kind of info.....and id carry a copy of it for backup just in case! ive never been asked for any of it but................and get your Wyoming ATV sticker at the wyco bar. its the closest location to get it and the beer is cold while your at it!
