Oregon Sluicing?

Since the U. S. Supreme Court has declined to hear our mining case it looks as though all we have left is pans and sluice boxes. Maybe using even these tools may be dated.

That said does anyone know about regulations on using a manual sluice in Oregon? I'd like to go down this summer (SF Umpqua) and work a small sluice box. Would appreciate any insight and advice. Thank you.

Sad day for freedom loving people in the U. S. As for dredging in California and Oregon rivers all we have left are the memories.

So far we can still dredge in Wyoming and Colorado. Not that that does me much good anymore. Oh well, it was great while I could still do it. Lots of great friends and memories though.

TO LIBERTYDAVE:

We can still use NON MOTORIZED equipment in Oregon. If you can get over 100 yards from an active waterway I think you can use a highbanker.

I'll see about going to Oregon next summer (2020).

I have a small 6" trommel that gets its water via an electric (Johnson Controls 2200 GPM) water pump. Does anyone have an opinion if Oregon officals consider an electric water pump the same as a gas enginepowered water pump or is a pump...still a pump? Any thoughts on this?

Can't really mine without a source of water (except a dry washer)!!!

No motorized equipments

Think hand dredge for shallower water up to 3' - 4'
Not those online, build your own
Suck it up blow it out into the sieve/bucket, into sluice if close enough
works all the way underwater, much harder how ever
I have built several OK three 2"
and a 3" variety, thought about a 4", dont want to work that hard
The wife handles the 2"
I run the 3"
bucket, #4 sieve, hand dredge
move alot of material, works as hard as you want
