Hallow!!!!!!!!!
Anybody out there???????
Seems really dead. Joes back in the lower 48 but I bet it cold there. We had 2 degrees the other night here.

Russ, you still around and kicking?

Hose, are you ready to move out of Hades and leave the fire and camping out with no power?

Humpf!

2 little degrees, eh? Wuzzat "above" or "below" zero?

Here in the "Snowbird Place" in northern Idaho we've only had it down to +9 this fall - but winter's coming soon!

Well, I've seen it a bit colder than that (minus 81 F.) and I know you have, too (I heard that you were stationed in Alaska with the USAF in the 60s). Do you possibly have a little 'ole picture of you in Alaska from the 60s for us to see? :o

So Leonard, for those of us who haven't heard the story, just how did you first get tangled up with finding Gold as a lifelong passion?

Inquiring minds want to know. :?:

I don't believe that I have any pictures of me in Alaska. This was early on in the Air Force. I'm not sure where it was taken. If you look hard you should be able to pick me out. Click on picture to view full size.

Russ,

He was a General - a 3 stripe General (sometimes called a "Buck General"!

It took me 5 years to make TSgt. but I kept it sewn on for the next 35 years.

Enough rank to get things done but not enough to be responsible for the officers' "handiwork".

Here's one of me in Alaska. This would have been in 1963 or 64. This is Cook Inlet near Anchorage. That's me at 165 pounds. Never see me at that ever again.

Power back on for friends so house emptied out. I did not lose my juice somehow but smoke from down south in the am. Setting records for warmth-mid to hi 80s and humidity in SINGLE digits-dryer than a popcorn fart. Strange brew for sure. Trying to catch up on house but backsliding a bit as 60-70 mph winds torn everything up bigtime as extensive damage to structures around my house.. Trying to walk is the latest thang for fun-YUCK. Down into the low 30s at night but ol'man winter and RAIN not in our future. Wow last year deluges this winter so far squat. Hope you all are doing good and getting through this weather insanity as 2 degrees Leonard sounds a mite nippy  Take care-John

Yikes LEONARD!

Wolf fur trimmed parka, K boots and a 35 mm camera - certainly that's you in the picture!

I bet you went through a zillion old memories finding that one - good on you!
