My dad passed away.

Postby nebraskadad » Thu May 13, 2021 9:12 am

Some of you may remember meeting dad @ Douglas Creek.

He joined his mom and dad, and a couple brothers the end of last month.

he was battling his bladder cancer again. He had had his bladder removed the year prior to our trip to Wyoming in 2009.
and at that time they thought they had gotten all of the cancer. They were doing chemo and he had been having difficulty breathing. I was able to get to Hastings in time to say hello and watching him go.

I did have a couple pics, from Douglas Creek and Rob Roy Rez.
thought i'd share.
I miss him a lot.

Agreed - the endless walk down the road - and we sure do have memories of that place.

Very sorry to hear of his passing.

There's more and more of us getting ready to make that "endless walk". Hopefully there will be a Douglas Creek waiting there for us. Maybe it will be "before the beetle kill".

Thanks for the kind words.

My son sang a solo at the funeral and brought the church to years.
those pics i took the last year Geno with alive. Dad had lost his bladder that year. he was not used to the "bag".

MBNF was 1/2 rust colored that year from the Beetle Kill, there tons of firewood cut at Bobby Thompson.

I will never get the smell of the Bobby Thompson Outhouse out of my memory.

He always took a walk in the evenings, he was not comfortable away from home for very long after that trip.
After he got external bladder He and mom were more into staying at Marriott Suites, then gold or deer camp.

Speaking of that walk - did Geno ever make it back to DC?

If I'm not mistaken , Geno and Cathy both came up that year and Geno passed that December and Cathy passed about 1 year latter. R.I.P.
