It's been quite a few years since I was counting days and a "short timer" and heading out to a new station. That was even before the wife and then all my worldly belongs amounted to was basically what would fit in my bag. No cares in the world because "uncle" would take care of me.After I got out of basic and went to tech school for about 45 weeks I filled out my "dream" sheet. Somewhere in the northwest and since I was from Oregon, it might be fun. Alaska. Little did I know I would get both. Alaska was in the northwest. I was sent to Alaska with the rest of my computer class and the I/O printers and IBM Selectric repairs that made up the group that was first out of the classes. It was 3 years later I was sent to Test Equipment school, PMEL. and met my wife.

Obviously that last one - meeting your wife (cough, cough, nudge, nudge) was THE most important one. Right?????

I am less then 90 days now. Paper work is filed!

into my Operations manual for Dummies to give them when i leave.

Russ has computer problemd/ I talked to his a couple of weeks ago. I've been down and out with mine also. My modem shot craps and I had to buy a new one. They came out and installed it today. I maxed out my speed to a whole 10MB from my old 1,5 meg. They say I'm on the end of the line and thats all I'm going to get. Funny thing, it really seems fast now.

I'll call you later this week Russ. He can read the forum but can't post.

I am officially retired. Odd to sit at home on a Monday drinking coffee with the dogs!!

Planning on being at our place in South Park, in end of August with a dog and a buddy, again in September and October with Momma..
Curious who took over High Hopes?
Want to get out of camp for a day or two prospecting ..(maybe more) probably will run to Cache Creek,
Anyone know if Colorado Prospectors still have active claims and membership?
