PASSING OF DAKOTA FRED

Dakota Fred passed away on July 11th, one day after his 80th birthday. Love him or hate him he was quite a charactor. I met Fred at the Douglas County Prospectors gold show in 2021. He came to the DCPA booth and spent several hours showing people how to pan for gold. Before I met him I didn't like him because he had taken the claim away from the Hoffmans of GOLD RUSH fame. Seems Todd had failed to do paperwork and hold the claim so the owner, wanting more gold, turned the mining rights over to Fred and his son, Dustin.

I'm sure gonna miss him.
