Independence Mine AK

I went up to Independence Mine outside Palmer.This was an active mine in the 40's--now a park.I wanted to drive
over the pass and detect some tailing from other mines but the road was still closed. A few pics--

Nice, with Pioneer Peak in the background and you can see the Butte down there too. I miss that view. I wanted to do that as well before going back south to be a 48er again.
