I just talked to "The Geno" and we are looking at him being on site at Douglas Creek with his wife Kathy, on the first of July for about a week. If you want to meet him, you'll need to be there for that time frame.

I'll have my 4" dredge in the water so if you don't have equipment, mine will be available for at least part of the day. You use it, you will get the cleanup for that time period. If Geno was right from last year, you should get some gold. I plan on being there from about t
ay 25th for 2 weeks. If you are a ham, come on up and join us for Field Day.

Here's a link to the rules.

You might notice that they "request" that you fill out a “Letter of Intent”. I will do that as the owner of a dredge and in the past, they have been very good to work with. If you aren't bringing your own equipment but are going to use others, I would think that the equipment owners letter should be more than adequate.

Does the Forest Service reply to the application? I sent mine in a month ago and haven't heard anything back to say if it is accepted or not.

Looking as I if I may actually be able to make it up to Douglas Creek for a day or so with my son.

We are going to be in Estes at the YWCA from 27-30th of June, then head north to catch up with all on Douglas Creek for a day or so.

My extended family is having a "reunion" at the YMCA in Estes Park. I have offered a 1/2 day or day long prospecting outing on the 28th..

Looking for suggestions.. I was think of taking them in from Ward off Peak to Peak Hwy 72. Not sure of exact location of open area. Looking for directions from Ward as to the location of the open areas on left Hand Canyon, or from Blackhawk as to open areas on Clear Creek.

Any other "ideas" of locations would be appreciated where we can drive a maybe an hour from Estes..
If I go to LH Canyon, where can one prospecting?

Any ideas around Blackhawk of open areas? One of people will be about 6 months pregnant.. I thought about Vic's but not sure if it is open.. I sent Dan and Denise a note.. Any suggestions appreciated..

Looking for ideas..

EDIT --- 6/7/10 evening.. Spoke with Leonard and Jesse at Vics, Vic's sounds like the best bet for the family outing.. My son and I definitely be heading to Douglas Creek on the 30th, and staying till the evening of the 3rd or morning of the 4th.. Look forward seeing you all, Ryan (my son is very hyped about trying to dredge.. ) Hopefully you old timers can put him in a wetsuit.. I can help with tailings.
