Interesting clip. They really do lead a hard life. A lot of how they mine is really dangerous, and if their government has its way, they will make if very difficult to continue that way of life.

I'd bet that the reason that the government wants to get involved is so they can get their cut of the profits. Right now they have no way to find out how much gold is being processed.

Man alive now thats some nasty dangerous mining. Some of them ratholes look deep enough to get to china-D'oh--theze already there!! Subsistance mining at it's best possible outcome and MUCH worse ifn' ya aren't one of the lucky few. Bummer is with better drywashers the take would increase expotentially. Nice to see a family affair with all involved though. Fascinating video and the gal risked much to publish-THANX FOR THE THREAD-John
