We never filed on it. I have a great story about it if we ever sit around a campfire again.

Wally-

You going to be up there for the last half of July, and first part of August? Mebbe we can arrange for a short visit. I'll see what the Old Wise One thinks.

Sorry for the silence guys, have had mother in hospital on & off. In fact. leonard. I was all set to call you back Friday night after supper, but we got a call during supper that she had had to go on the ambulance back to horsepistol. Fer some reason you arent answerin tonight (Sunday)...

Anyway, Lynne and I will be arriving Tuesday 6 July, Lord willing. I'll post here if things change; frankly I may not get to go on vacation for a while. We'll have 2 Dahlke micro dredges and a combo (home sty.le). plus the 27 foot Mobile Outhouse and Comfy Bed. White 01 Dodge diesel with shell. will send up flares if get scared and lonely.
I spent all day outside today prepping small engines and rebuilding pumps and stuff,n 104 degrees here too. Whew! But am really gettin psyched!!!!!

If all goes well, I'll be there either the 2nd or 3rd of August. I plan to stay at least a week, maybe more if the money holds out.

To all who are attending this year's event. I really wanted to come and enjoy the sites and sounds and see you all face to face. However, the person I was going to meet up with and potentially provide me accommodations in his 5th wheel, came down with sun/heat stroke working on the 5th wheel, and I assume won't be going also. Have fun, and drink one or two for me.

Anyone looking for a 3in Keene combo dredge/highbanker I am bringing mine with me to sell. It has the flotes and 5.5 Honda but no air. Will sell with or w/o Honda. 1200 with 700w/o, I'll just keep the Honda for a spare

Well, the Rendevous is progressing well. I had to pull out yesterday, but I left quite a crew up on the mountain. More folks arriving this week.
Conditions have been as follows:
Water level is way up this year, about like last year. It was going down a bit over the last couple of days. Sure is easy to float the dredge around. Temperature is very good (I didn't have a theermomoeter).
Weather has been about usual. Maybe a bit less daily rain than usual. Mornings clear, with some clouds in the afternoon. I sure got dumped on yesterday from Laramie all the way to Denver. But it wasn't even completely overcast at Douglas Creek when I left.
Mosquitos are the worst I can remember. Very wet conditions for far this year. They are not active in the am and in the evening so much. When the wind is up, they aren't as bad. Crazy on the creek.
Bobby Thompson campground has just about zero trees left. The pine bark beetle (I never heard it bark, but I did hear some barking spiders) has attacked probably 75+% of the trees. Fires are allowed, but please be careful! The campground has been open and closed- make sure you have adequate toilet facilities with you.

Water was very high.. Leonard and Russ almost lost a dredge trying to put in.
It was great meeting Mrs Geno, and Mrs Ed, finally a F2F with Russ and Ed, and others I've met here and definitely seeing Geno again..

My son thought Hoser was a "hoot!"

Thanks all for the parking spot.. Son was done with the mosquitoes. Frankly I was too. We came back to Nebraska and people were bitching about a mosquito now and then, they have NO friggin' clue.

Hope they reopened Bobby Thompson so people could at least use the outhouse. It is sad to see the transition from green to brown in the forest over the last several years. That place will torch up one of these days and go up like a popcorn fart.
