4" proline with keene pump

Postby WildernessAU » Tue Jul 20, 2010 8:03 pm

I have an opportunity to buy a 4" proline dredge without hoses or motor.
However I do have a honda gx200 with a keene p180 pump. I was wondering if I could run the 4" with my existing engine and pump if I buy the necessary new hoses.
The pump intake and outflow sizes are the same.

I currently have a 3" keene and was hoping to eventually upgrade to a twin 5-6" and be able to use the same motor/pump config for my 3" as well as on the larger twin engine dredges.

Will this work even with the proline?

Thanks

i replied over on mikes site. but you need a 5-5,5-6.5 H.P. enging to run that 4 inch right. also the p180 will work ,but the proline pump oputs out more water. im jealous of your potential find!! did you buy that from John Adams Winterfest?? he had one at his last gathering!

Keene p180 (250gpm)will run that thang at less than 3/4 throttle easily with a 15' hose. Old school plastic base and impeller won't go good but with 10' a hose so so---John

Good news! The proline is about 3 years old and appears to be the most recent version. The guy is almost ready to part with it but I have to throw out the right price while still making it worth my while. Hopefully by this weekend I will have a new toy!
Russau the gx200 is rated at 5.5hp on the honda site though the dredge dealers say 6.5. It's the same engine for most 4" dredges!!
John, if this deal works out, I might need some of your input of making an undercurrent for this sluice or somehow to increase ulrta fines retention.
