I should be able to get there Wed nite or Thurs morning. One question, how do I get there?

Go towards Leadville on Hiway 24.

It will be a little over 10 miles if I remember correctly. You will be able to see the Otero Pump plant high up the mountain on the right. County road 374 turns off to the right. Cross the bridge and turn right. About 1/2 mile downstream you'll see a large parking area on the right. Ed's trailer should be there. If not, it is about the first palce you can camp after crossing the bridge. there is a large pull through. It's pretty hard to miss. The cursor is pointing at it. If you zoom in on google, you can actually see the parking area.

Actually, I think the little road that crosses the river is County Road 374. Look for the Otero Pump Station sign, pointing east.

If you have sharp eyes, after you turn south on Road 371 and go a little ways, you will see Entering Public Lands sign (if it hasn't been vandelized). That is the start of the claim.

Sounds like the Good Doctor Sluice may be there the second weekend.

I'm looking at looping back from parts unknown to the High Hopes on Sept 3rd or 4th and leaveing on the 7th if anyone is interested on being there over Labor day weekend. Post here if you are interested. I'll have my 4" dredge if you don't have anything you want to run. I don't want to be there by myself. There's no one to take pictures of or laugh at.

If you need help I can show up with my wetsuit and hookah and some other things. My dredge is on the other side of the river at the claim I'm on now and I don't want to cross with it till its time to go home.

Leonard,

My wife Jenni and I will be up on the Arkansas starting the 4th of Sept. So we can come give you something to laugh at and take pictures of.
I'll even bring my alaska hat.

I'll have my little 2.5 inch...

Jenni has to go back on Wed, but I'll be there till the 11th.

Be sure to add High Hopes to your dredge permit. Then you can dredge with your equipment on our claim. If there's someone around to help put mine in and out, it will be available to share as I won't dredge for more than about 3 hours a day. I'm getting lazy in my old age. That won't take any permit action as I'll have a permit for it.
