Well, the Early Labor Day expidition is complete. I arrived home yesterday (Sunday). Haven't gotten all the photos collected and edited, but will do that in the next few days.
My bride was there both weekends.
The Golden Optimist made an appearance for a few days, before he pulled a map out of his glove box. I could see a ragged red X on the map, but few other details. Gentleman Bill join me for the weekdays.
This past weekend, The Good Doctor Sluice and the Urban MIner (Mark) jumped into the water.
Conditions were good, weather excellent.

More later.

Ahhhh CRAP! I'm missing all the fun!... A couple more days and I'll find out how my last series of chemo worked out... I'll let you know what the verdict is as soon as I get it!
Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

I'm headed back to Salida tomorrow and thursday to the High Hopes. Should get to the High Hopes some time before noon thursday. Having a great time. I found a .6 pennyweight picker yesterday and the whole process of locating it in a bedrock crack with a metal detector and then actually getting it is on tape so you'll be able to see that later.

If anyone wants to joine me on the High Hopes from thursday to tuesday, come on down! I have my dredge but won't put it in until a little help shows up.

Oh, Wise ONe

If somebody happens to show up to dredge, and they might need a place to go, here are directions:
From where I was dredging when you were there, go back two large rocks.
I finished up where I was, and moved back one large rock. It was OK, but I didn't have time to finish.
But the Good Doctor was behind the next rock back. He was getting really good stuff. Easy to spot the place: dredge hole right behind a big rock with a great gravel bar to finish up. With your four inch, might only take a couple of weeks.

Yes, there was some nice color there! You might want to bring a winch to move a few boulders. I had a great time with some good people. I wouldn't trade that for anything. Have a great time this weekend. Marc

Somebody has to show up to help. I won't put mine down there and try to get it back up by myself. Besides, you have to come and handle my nugget.

Well, I would personally love to paw all over your slab of gold. However, someone needs to keep this part of the economy pumping. And that means me.
Besides, if I take more vacation now, how am I going to be able to go with you to Idaho next year for three weeks?

Opps....was I supposed to use my library voice for that???
