It was 26 degrees, but after chipping ice for an hour I was down to my tee shirt and got sunburned

 did you get any pieces with a little girth to them? I have heard of a few chunkies being left behind by the chinease, its funny cause the textbooks act like terryall is cashed out but i bet there are still a few good benches to be found!

Stan
My uncle and I get to play on a friends 1800 acre cattle ranch just down stream of the Wilson Placer.
We have just sampled a couple of spots so far.
It's nice when you can park 10' from the bank.
This is on Michigan Creek near Tarryall Creek

understand completely your comment about cold being a state of mind. Since it's winter here in Colorado, I can't find anyone brave enough to go out and do some prospecting. Instead, even in the dead of winter and snow blowing all around, I fly fish. Trout don't mind the cold, move slower, but don't mind.

Some guy's have the luck. I've wanted to get in that area, down stream of that Wilson placer, but don't see any public land around there. Looks like you did pretty good there.
