7 days from retirement!

I'm home and 7 days from retirement. I've had a snort or 2 or 4 of whiskey so you have to give me a little variation from what you would normally do. It's beeen a great 33 years of work for the Denver Fire Department! I'd do it all over again. I hate to leave the time I've spent with the bosses of Denver. I can though because it's been a great ride! I look forward to spending more time on the forum and with the great people that are it's its members.

Don't look for any intelligble post from the CCC next weekend. We'll be camping out, drinking, smoking cigars, ham radioing, panning out dredge concentrates, and probably having more than a few liquid refreshments. I'm looking forward to meeting a bunch of you next year that I haven't met before. I'll have plenty of off time and all it will take is an invitation to visit you.

I went to work today for the last time on sunday, at least if I don't get called back tonight. The weather man says next weekend is supposed to be great! After showing up for work next friday, I turn in may car keys, say goodbye to the people in the 911 call center where I work and leave hopefully by noon. If I leave early, what are they going to do, fire me?

From there back to home to hook up the tent trailer, load a bunch of firewood and met Ed, Melanie, and a few others at Saint Vrain state park. A 10 mile drive from my house. There will be a lot of cigar smoking, drinking, and exchange of lies around the campfire that night. I promise to stand up slowly to keep from getting another wild turkey attack.

Saturday is going to be a ham radio day and panning out some gold concentrates that I have that are supposed to be really good. Sunday others are headed back to work. Not me! Not ever again!

Next spring don't answer the phone or any emails from me. I'll be looking for a place to visit. Top of the list is Mayy's and Connies to do some fishing. Close behind is a visit to Billbrew's for some beer drinking and mining.
