Yep, and the rush continues. Everybody wants some.

That is pretty interesting, Skip. Wonder how they actually knew and verified that it was. Wonder who was holding it all these years.

A true flake of history. :D

Jesuit Padres enslaved the indians 100+ years prior to mine millions in gold---just a anglo-saxon pipe dream--John

Correct Hoser,
That's where the old Indian rule is from..."Never review gold or it's source to a white man." (Spaniards were considered "white" by the Indians.)
If you did, before you knew it you and your family were enslaved, digging in a hole.

Yep, I am sure gold was found even well before the indians and spainards. Who is to say that the nomadic cavemen and dinosaurs didn't collect some pretty gold nuggets.

But this perticular flake here is indeed historical, if it is actual, it triggered an unsane migration westward and a mad outbreak of California Gold Fever. The effects can still be seen today.

$1300+/oz., the RUSH, it is on!!!!!!! :D

the Jesuits had a school to teach them their trades and it latter became a school to teach the indians. this school where DeSmidt taught and is burried is in Hazelwood Missouri. i took a turn of this school several years ago and took lots of pictures. some were of hand drawn maps of where these "Black Robs" were. it recently closed down and all of its contents were move to Downtown St.Louis to the St.Louis University Museum.i havent been back there to see it since its move but i was told they now show more maps and paintings than they did before!
