I think we'll be dancing in the streets before long here in CA.
I see it this way.
Currently, public approval of our Democrat controlled legislature is running around 11%.
Although California now only requires a majority vote to pass a new state budget, the legislature can no longer "borrow" (steal) money from counties or special districts.
Nor can they raise taxes by simply calling them "fees" and any new tax hike will require a 75% approval (Which the Republicans will never give them.)
DMV. fees and the recently increased state sales tax roll back to their previous rates this year resulting in serious cuts to state revenues.
Our state budget while only passed two months ago, is already forecast to be 10 billion short for fiscal year 2010-2011 and that gap is sure to grow larger and their chances of getting more money from the feds all but vanished on November 2nd.
No longer can the Democrats place blame on the Republicans or Arnold and they have flat run out of smoke and mirrors to balance the next state budget. They can only blame themselves. So just sit back and watch our Democrat controlled legislature implode.
How's that for hope and change?
