You need to have a water supply too.
Never feed dry material. A simple spray system is quite easy to build.
Check out the hopper on a high banker. The ones I've seen all have a spray system to wash and lubricate the material. A "potatoe scrubber" isn't needed.
I have done so much, with so little, for so long, that I am now qualified to do anything with nothing.
Now, I just have to find the time to put the dang thing together.

Lots to think about here. I am more of a visual person. This week end I'll do some drawings and maybe make a small model to understand exactly where all the different sized material will do. I planned on this being a wet process. Thanks everyone. Be back in a few days.

Rick,

"12'h X 40' wX 60' long pile predicates massive equipment and detectors should be employed at the disquard point with a bell to warn of oro puro on the run-John"

Means ----- "It's a big operation with too much oversize to begin metal detecting the huge piles. Position a metal detector to check the discharge material. Have an alarm to notify the operators if a Gold nugget passes the detector's sensor."

:D GOING  GOING :o GONE  yep Joe AK been there and seen that-tooooooooo big a op does not make a miner rich and thinking things out sure helps. The HUGE op outta Jamestown had detectors on their stackers hooked to a stop switch so that as the oversized passed by it was detected--cool- ya gotta luv these great ideas BUT nuttn' left for the next generation due to our intelligence and equipment---John

John
Is that detector idea a commercial device I could read some more about?

They were using detectors initially made for logging mills that detect for nails, spikes and such in wood and just a few mods and good to go. Garret makes a multitude of models for many industries,I'd google'm-John

Mounting a detector is a good idea. I concidered it, but that would force "downsizing" and put my Wife out of a job. Hard tellin' what she'd get into on 'er own.
