File your End of Year Report Online

Postby cowboy444 » Sun Jan 23, 2011 4:31 pm

Just got my confirmation of End of Year report and a card that says:

Dear Recreational Placer Miner:

It's now fast and easy to complete your yearly report online.

Visit http://www.oregonstatelands.us and click on Placer Mining Year End Report under Permits and Authorizations. You can also print the form and send it in, or we can mail you a copy. For additional information, please call (503)986-5294.

Even if you didn't do any placer mining last year, we still need your report to track the total number of miners, the most common locations, and how much material was moved.

Please submit your report by JANUARY 31, 2011 to keep your authorization current. We look forward to hearing from you.

Never, never, never-ever allow yourself to be arbitrarily classified as "Recreational", even in seemingly innocent correspondence. You are either a "Miner" or you are not a "Miner", and it certainly is in your interest to correct those who mis-identify you or your operation.

Allowing your operation ANY (including the legally undefined 'recreational') status other than "Miner" may well deny you some, any or all legal protections. You could be throwing a lot or everything away by not thinking about and defending your legal status.

i agree with Joe!!! it seems that there is a trend for all gubermint agencys to use that term "recreational" when refering to any small scale mining effort. sooner or later they will drop the hammer on us for accepting/useing it!

I agree, also, but this is all expected when dealing with recreational politicians and recreational state employees.

Trade your gold under the table for silver, and you will be ok.
