GPAA claims closed to dredging

Postby rocketsngold » Wed Feb 02, 2011 5:55 pm

Did anyone else see that the GPAA claims are now closed to dredging and highbanking?

How about the private claims, are those being limited as well?

Anyone know what's going on up on the arkansas?

I haven't heard anything on private claims yet. I know I have a permit good for 2011. I plan on dredging.

The BLM has told the GPAA in California that prior to allowing anyone to dredge or highbank on the GPAA claims, that they (GPAA) have to submitt a plan of action, and a reclamation fee. GPAA told the BLM that what they are doing is illegal. It seems that what is happening in California, is beginning to happen here; government involvement with small time miners. For further information, call or visit the Canon City BLM office - 719-269-8599. I believe the person you would want to speak with is Stephanie. The GPOC has already submitted their PLA for their claims on the Arkansas.

NOI is perfectly legal when dealing "especially" with large numbers of folks as the bad 1% kills it for the majority once again :? --John

I think where they are going with this is:

They want NOI, POO, and bonds from all claim holders and Prospectors. What I don't understand is, if you doing exploration for discovery in order to file a claim, is how they are going to regulate this act.

I watched Gold Seekers on tv the other night and it sure seemed to me that the intention of the film crew was to paint prospectors as low life slobs and outright crooks! I didn't think is was a fair portrail of the miners. I'm not sure if they were working somebody elses claim or all that machinery was theirs. Looked to me if it has been setting unused for a while and the picture of the bank cut looked abandoned for a long time. Left me with a lot of questions. :?:

thanks Pat for posting the link. Mark look in the "gold prospecting" forum under the thread of: Arkansa mining claims closing to dredgeing. Blake has his explaination there.
