More than just Fuel...

Mid-East is at it big time. Kadaffy, need to take him and his son out this time. Oil supply down 2%.
With the price of gas going up, again, (and it could be a big jump this time), there are only two devices that may be left for automotion.
1. Left leg
2. Right leg

( ...and the price of fuel for those is goin' up too.)

Don't matter which fuels we use, supply is going to drop and the price is goin' up.
People strongly resist calling this a depression, ( remember, we were in one when we entered WWII ), and I can see the possibility of "gas cards" or a similar concept for rationing just like during WWII.
It wasn't just gas, tires too. All kinds of stuff was "rationed".
Now, another war of economics, and we're losing.
So do we need a WWIII to solve the economic probs we face today?

My point is that all prices go up with "shortages".
Rising price of fuel, again, will ripple through the economy, and in some cases having a devistating effect on a major part of the populace.
With shortages will come "Gov't Intervention (rationing)".
Let's have a World War and wipe out a few hun mil people, then there will be plenty for everyone,
....for a while.
Gotta tighten my belt now, so I won't feel so hungry when I die of starvation.

...and can anyone of you tell us the status of Gold at that time :?:
I have done so much, with so little, for so long, that I am now qualified to do anything with nothing.

Gas price is coming up real fast and I think your right, it won't help matters.

Here are 18 other scary :? facts we should be asking our reps about and what they're doing to help these matters????

#1 According to Gallup, the U.S. unemployment rate is currently 10.3 percent. When you add in part-time American workers that want full-time employment, that number rises to 20.2 percent.

#2 According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of job openings in the United States declined for a second straight month during December.

#3 There are currently more than 4 million Americans that have been unemployed for more than a year.

#4 The number of Americans that have become so discouraged that they have given up searching for work completely now stands at an all-time high.

#5 Gasoline prices in the United States recently hit a 28-month high.

#6 During the 4th quarter of 2010, 4.63 percent of all U.S. home loans were in foreclosure. That matched the all-time high, and it was up significantly from 4.39 percent in the 3rd quarter.

#7 It is estimated that there are about 5 million homeowners in the United States that are at least two months behind on their mortgages, and it is being projected that over a million American families will be booted out of their homes this year alone.

#8 Almost 14 percent of all credit card accounts in the United States are currently 90 days or more delinquent.

#9 The average credit card rate in the United States had increased to a whopping 13.44 percent at the end of 2010.

#10 Americans now owe more than $890 billion on student loans, which is even more than they owe on credit cards.

#11 Average household debt in the United States has now reached a level of 136% of average household income. In China, average household debt is only 17% of average household income.

#12 U.S. life expectancy at birth is now three years less than Canada and four years less than Japan.

#13 New home sales in the state of California were at the lowest level ever recorded in the month of January.

#14 43 percent of all mortgages in south Florida are currently underwater.

#15 Prior to the most recent economic downturn, there were usually somewhere around four to five million job openings in America. Today there are about 3 million.

#16 When you adjust wages for inflation, middle class workers in the United States make less money today than they did back in 1971.

#17 One out of every seven Americans is now on food stamps.

#18 One out of every six elderly Americans now lives below the federal poverty line.

The unemployment rate reportedly remains about constant, then why do I hear of over 425,000 people losing jobs each month? 425g give up and are no longer counted? :?

I did manage to stumble on this site.
Gold prices from 1833 to 2010.
http://www.nma.org/pdf/gold/his_gold_prices.pdf
Even though our country was struggling prior to WWII, the price remained constant.
That's when the Gov't set the price.
Now, we're back in the same ol' hole but Gold is $1400 +/-.
Gold was set free in 1968. Once they cut 'er loose, she really took off. ;)
An ounce of Gold today, will buy a whole heck of a lot more than it would in 1940.
I hear now, that there may be a confiscation of Gold when it reaches 2g an oz.
Like I said, I "heard" of possible confiscation.
Don't know if there's any truth to it.
Should be interesting to find out how they would pull that off.
Only if people roll over on their back with their feet and hands in the air.
And.....they.......just.......might.

Now this guy's got it!!!

Friends, would you believe that Lee Iacocca is 82 years old and is still
kickin’ butt? Check out his latest rant.
Just as true today as it was when his book first came out.
He was, and still is, a brilliant businessman!
Often we need to be reminded of Iacocca's words.

Remember Lee Iacocca, the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation from its
death throes? He's now 82 years old and has a new book, 'Where Have
All
The Leaders Gone?'.
Lee Iacocca Says:
'Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening?
Where the hell is our outrage with this so called president? We should
be
screaming bloody murder! We've got a gang of tax cheating clueless
leftists
trying to steer our ship of state right over a cliff, we've got
corporate
gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even run a ridiculous
cash-for-clunkers program without losing $26 billion of the taxpayers'
money, much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad,
everyone
sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, 'trust me,
the
economy is getting better..' Better? You've got to be kidding. This
is
America , not the damned 'Titanic'. I'll give you a sound bite: 'Throw
all
the Democrats out, along with Obama!'
You might think I'm getting senile, that I've gone off my rocker, and
maybe
I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country
anymore..
The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in
handcuffs.. While we're fiddling in Afghanistan , Iran is completing
their nuclear bombs and missiles and nobody seems to know what to do.
And
the liberal press is waving 'pom-poms' instead of asking hard
questions.
That's not the promise of the ' America ' my parents and yours
traveled
across the ocean for. I've had enough. How about you?
I'll go a step further. You can't call yourself a patriot if you're
not
outraged. This is a fight I'm ready and willing to have. The Biggest
'C' is
Crisis! (Iacocca elaborates on nine C's of leadership, with crisis being
the
first.)
Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis.
It's
easy to sit there with thumb up your butt and talk theory. Or send
someone
else's kids off to war when you've never seen a battlefield yourself.
It's
another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down.
On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other
time
in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A
hell of a mess, so here's where we stand.
We're immersed in a bloody war now with no plan for winning and no
plan
for leaving.. But our soldiers are dying daily.
We're running the biggest deficit in the history of the world, and
it's
getting worse every day!
We've lost the manufacturing edge to Asia , while our once-great
companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs.
Gas prices are going to skyrock again, and nobody in power has a lucid
plan
to open drilling to solve the problem. This country has the largest
oil
reserves in the WORLD, and we cannot drill for it because the
politicians
have been bought by the flea-hugging environmentalists.
Our schools are in a complete disaster because of the teachers'
union.
Our borders are like sieves and they want to give all illegal's
amnesty
and free healthcare.
The middle class is being squeezed to death every day.
These are times that cry out for leadership.
But when you look around, you've got to ask: 'Where have all the
leaders
gone?' Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the
people
of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense? I may
be
a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point..
Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than
making
us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo?
We've spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy,
and all
we know how to do is react to things that have already happened.
Everyone's hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping the government
will
make it better for them. Now, that's just crazy.. Deal with life.
Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we
can
restore our competitive edge in manufacturing. Who would have believed
that
there could ever be a time when 'The Big Three' referred to Japanese
car
companies? How did this happen, and more important, look what Obama did
about it!
Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying
down
the debt, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care
problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are
eating
away at our country and milking the middle class dry.
I have news for the Chicago gangsters in Congress. We didn't elect
you
to turn this country into a losing European Socialist state. What is
everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on NBC or CNN news will call
them a name? Give me a break. Why don't you guys show some spine for a
change?
Had Enough? Hey, I'm not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom
here.
I'm trying to light a fire. I'm speaking out because I have hope -
I have done so much, with so little, for so long, that I am now qualified to do anything with nothing.
Now, I just have to find the time to put the dang thing together.

Careful boys & girls...

Go to www.askheritage.org and learn more about each talking point listed in the above text. I just spent an hour over there and this guy looks more like a Libral.

yep a person cant go totally on what theyve read! many/most socalled "representatives" of ours say one thing to a group and turn around and say something else to a different group, and then again they turn around and vote something all together different like thier party wants them todo! a person needs todo lots of research on the "reps" they have in office for thier state. a person cant do them all! its a big job just doing their state and trying to keep up with them and their BS promises! REMEBER! if theyre moveing their lips, theyre lieing! action speaks louder than words!

None taken. 8-)
I like what he said in my above post and fully agree with almost every point.
Used to be you couldn't believe anything ya hear, and only half of what ya see.
Well, now you can't believe anything ya hear or see. My only scale for measuring
a "Man" is his actions, or lack there of, and the results. ;)

when obama was handing out the cash he went for shovel ready projects. sounds good but it does not do a dang thing. you can put in a side walk and it will not make in come. i wonder what would of happen if he hired a few company's to do up grades to the sewage plants to make and capture methane. if it was done in city's that had a population of 100k or bigger. there would be a lot of jobs made. they would need piping, concrete. guys to operate the new equipment, guys to put the equipment in. then of course you would need to do something with the gas. thats easy. convert city busses to run on methane. that would make a few jobs for a bit. save the towns fuel bills in the end. that would pay for the some new employees to run the capture plants.

making jobs and america work was not the plan thats for sure. if it was there are all kinds of projects that can be done. any one want a high speed train. if the govner and obama have there way i will have one. drive a hour south to take a train to go 5 hours north. the way i figer it i could skip the train and drive north and almost beat the train. plus i get to drive to the front door of ware ever i want to be.
save a tree, eat a squirrel.
