Pat, tent choice would be your preferance. leaving things in camp usually isnt a problem. someone is around the camp or we know others that camp there and someone would be watching,but i wouldnt leave anything out and obvious.a lot of other people come down to our campfires at night and we get to know everyone eventually! last years weather was a strange one! microblasts of air ,hail,skeeters keep us on our toes!

And make sure everything is staked down and secured REALLY good, otherwise you'll find your stuff blown over into Carbon county when you get back from a day on the claim.

AMEN to the wind as it definately rules the roost at DC. This forest crawler was literally blown away on numerous occaasions to the great levity and enjoyment of others at DC. I know mining but that ungodly wind,hail,rain and freezing cold in the middle of summer???? Kalif ol'man was indeed humbled as GO finally helped keep my camp in the state---John

hells bells, I'd take the wind over the skeeters.. Wind isn't that bad on the flats most of the time. Hope it doesn't get dry and burn up. Beetle Kill was awful last year.

Looking like our Lake George trip this summer in late July family time..

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMEN,kinda like alaska --but smaller and they had learned to fly in gail force winds is what impressed me !!!!!-John

haha yep i saw one flying directly at me doing a backstroke and smiling! he musta saw how plump my belly is! haha

Kind'a reminds me of the time I had to call the waiter over to ask him what that fly was doing in my soup. After careful observation he responded, "Looks like the back stoke to me"
