Satisfaction with purchase

Postby h20prospector » Sat Feb 26, 2011 7:58 am

How many of you have made purchases from the Gold Prospectors Supply Company out of Florida, and have received less than satisfactory results, namely orders made, money deducted from account, but product received weeks later?

After many emails (no phone # for customer service) I have obtained a refund. I talked to the BBB in FL, and the reason they only have a C+ rating is they haven't provided the necessary information. To file a complaint using BBB's website is pretty daunting, but it's the only business such as this will straighten up. To boot, they take your money, then place an order with a company that has the item, receive it, then ship it to you, making one think they are dealing straight with a dealer, which sadly wasn't the case. I have learned my lesson and will only deal with prospecting websites in the west. Remember Gold Prospectors Supply Company isn't a company you want to deal with!

a lot of places use this "drop ship" way of doing busines. i dealt with a Keene dealer in Ohio that did this with Keene products that he ran out of stock. it was unfortunate that you had this kind of deal but you did get your money back! so,live and learn!

Here's one out east in NC that I would recommend to anyone.

Some of you may already know SouthernProspector, but Shay just started a store to go along with his forum.

Take a look! :)

Florida is a big place - what town in Florida is this? If it's near enough, I'll go take a look at it.

Matt,

This is the only address I could find on their site, I'm not sure if this is the "store" or just a mailing address, but looking at this address on Google Maps it appears to be a home...

http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q=MA ... o+FL+32837

"2809 Falling Tree Cir
orlando, FL. 32837"

There's a email address on the "Contact Us" page where I got the above address from, maybe you could email them to ask for the address of their store so you could come by and check out the store, if there's really a "store" involved with this company.

That street name sounds more residential district than business district. Might be working out of their garage. Maybe a quick call to UPS might score some info on whether its residential or not.
