if some would lessen to me, my taxes would be way less. but you know what would a town do with fiber optics all over in the early 80,s. what would we do with a methane powered school busses, and city bus. what would we do with a self powered sewage and water plant, emergence power for the hospital, fire department, police station.
save a tree, eat a squirrel.

I am for all comers domestically.. I've been playing around with the idea of getting a CNG conversion done on my truck. even at a premium cost to convert, the return on investment with 1.32gge CNG price in Omaha would recoup in two years at 3.35 /gallon if gasoline continues upward the CNG price and local futures are showing normal seasonal price fluctuations.
the major hurdle domsestically is the ecowhacks hold over whole of DC, Until DC changes nothing changes. Oil and liberalism are simpatico. The environmental lobby get large portions of public land closed off exploration so we are forced to go offshore for energy. And then we bolster our military to protect these supplies offshore and send all the money over seas. Don't know if anyone else remembers the pissing rope tricks from the Carter era, but seems history does in fact repeat itself in 40 yr cycles. As the result this our trade deficit and debt to foreign nation is pushing our country to bankruptcy.

I for one want to get off the roller coaster, CNG seems to me to be the choice, Infrastructure exists, except for the point of sale, a retrofit can run from 6k to 10k depending on who you ask. I can recoup the 10 in the retrofit in 2 yrs of 1.32GGE CNG. (omaha price) this price varies to municipality.

Either CNG or we get serious about GTL/CTL and bring it into the refining stream.

What ever happened to Awrrnowde's "Hydrogen Highway"?

And the FUEL CELL?

http://www1.eere.energy.gov/hydrogenandfuelcells/wkshp_cng_and_h2.html

Seems we get all revved up and ending up going nowhere. Anyone remember the early 70's when they capped the speed limit in CA at 55 because we were running out of oil back then?

Me thinks it's a bit like lettuce in CA going for 3 bucks a head two weeks ago, reportedly due to a crisis in Mexico, but it goes on sale tomorrow locally for 57 cents each. Hmmmm...?
