my highbanker project!

Postby cory » Sun Mar 06, 2011 3:34 pm

so im building a highbanker. its made of 3 different pieces. i didnt have the money to buy a highbanker when i got into gold prospecting so i started out small. a keene a51a mini sluice. that was 6 years ago. then i realized i liked gold prospecting and i wanted to move more dirt. i got a gold buddy mini highbanker! that works great, if i have a 12 volt source nearby. my friend is going to help me make an extension to join the gold buddy and the a51a and in the extensionim going to have miners moss, ribbed matting and expanded metal.
now i bought myself a 6.5 horse motor with a clear water pump. it puts out 145gpm-harbor freight special- i think thats enough right? the small keene pump only puts out a max of 100gpm.
im necking the 2 inch outlet down to 3/4in spray bars that go around the hopper in a square pattern.
if anyone thinks they have any ideas that can help please tell me.

ive got some pictures on my facebook its just the rough idea so far
ill keep ya posted

Looks cool. Looks like most everything's gunna be hanging in your first section. I don't know what the connection between the first section and your Keene is but I'd be careful with that overlap as material will want to tuck under the lip of the first section (mini-highbanker) and flow uphill.

The pump looks like more than enough to do the job. In fact I'd be willing to bet you end up cutting the throttle back most of the way. I modified my Keene as well. I use a small 1" Honda pump and ended up putting in a ten inch extension between the flair and riffles because turbulence was too strong and was washing things too far down the rig. The way yours is set up with the mini highbanker as your "drop" area you'll do just fine, and with an extension as well... :D

Happy rock washing.

I bet that little red pump carries a whole lot farther and easier than that chinese monster does! Roadsigns??? All I see is stickers to camo that 'banker in urban ares!
