Nice rig.

Mine's got 5 sections. But it also has a wood tough for support and an additional six angle iron braces on the trough. Oh yeah, and it's constructed entirely out of steel. Seriously thought about suspending it with pulleys from the trees rather than hauling it down into the creek and back.

Geo what holds your screen/riffels down?

Screen bumps up against the first riffles.
The riffles set into the ribbed carptet.
Ran all summer, nuthin' moved 'til I wanted it to.
Makes for an easy cleanout when nuthin' is atached.
Pick out the pieces and rince into a bucket at the lower end.

Look at the legs on my sluice, 1/2" emt.
Plenty strong enough to hold "Tom" up.
Ya might be able to get rid of some weight on your setup.

Trouble with my rig are the five (5) sections. It has a tendency to snake over the terrain without the trough. I'd have to have a dozen legs like yours and it'd take me most of the morning just to true them all up.

I think you've go the rig. Longer sections is the way to go. If I do it again I'd probably go 3 - 5 foot sections. That's a fifteen foot not counting any type of flair. I'd probably go bonkers buildin' stuff if I were ever to score a brake.

Look at my second pic.
Note that the height is adjustable for each leg, fits any terrain.
Independant suspension.
Each section slips inside the one below it.
Only two legs per section except for the first, lower, section.
That first section has four legs. I set it to slope first, then add
on the rest of the sections. I set the slope on each section as it goes together.
Lay in the carpet, riffles and s'panded metal.
Just add water.

I just thought of some numbers that might help ya set up.

15' sluice sloped at 1" to 1'
You have a 15" height dif over the length of the sluice.

My sluice is about 21'.
I keep 24" clearance at the lower end to fit a bucket for cleanout.
24" plus 21" = 45" upper end height. About the height of a light switch.
No bending to feed.
