A 4" dredger typically has a 3 1/8" nozzle. They want a 3" nozzle. I put a 1/8" reducer in mine so ir is 3" exactly. I've never seen them actually measure anyone. Last year they "would like" you to have a permit. I didn't have one but when they came by, I filled it out and gave it to them. I don't know what they are doing this year. I'll probably try to get one in advance.

How bout laminating a copy and zip tying it to the dredge somewhere out of the way so it's always right there with you. The one time I was asked for paperwork, I thought it was a p.i.t.a to climb out of the hole and traipse up to the truck just to get it off the dash.

i had my "permit" letter of authorization (LOA) laminated so it wouldnt get wet and unreadable. the lady that came into our camp said she never saw one so nice!i made 2 of them ,one with my gear by the dredge and one in the camp so i wouldnt have to walk around looking for it if asked!

Well, bought my 1st of several bottles of good Scotch for the DC rendezvous; MacAllan 12 yr. Already have a bottle of Jamison's 12 yr set aside. Now that I've started buying booze for the trip, it's all starting to get very real!!

I'm going to bring a bottle of our locally distilled sour mash whisky. Aged usually about a week or so in the bottle before it's sold. It never sees a oak barrel.
