Nah, the PLP didn't squeze 49ers, but they both have had a hand in the making of our current demise. I just believe the 49ers with the Karuk vs.CDFG was more damaging than the PLP vs. CDFG. F'M' both!!!!
All water under the bridge now as is our dredging, leagally that is.

I peeped so frigging long my voice just quit! The 49'rs are nothing but a cult for feeding money to McCrack and the PLP is nothing more than just about the same... You would think that with all the money Hobbs has collected they could have hired a real lawyer... Speaking of the PLP... has ANYONE EVER SEEN A FINANCIAL REPORT on where all that donated money goes?

Oh that gold in my hand was found with a metal detector, something the rest of us old dredgers had better learn if'n ya still want to get some of that Motherlode yeller!

this entire conversation that im typeing is NOT intended to point at anyone nor want to start a agument!!!well i do beleive that the west coast people have a better insight/understanding to the laws and problems out there then i do! youve lived/worked with them since they came about! ive got plenty on my plate just here in my state of Missouri!regardless who got this mess started,we cant do anything about that fact cause its already done. but what can we do to put a stop to this? ive asked this before!everytime someone makes a effort to fight this, someones got to start saying bad things about their intentions.theyve done so to Jim Foleys National Land Rights Group, the head of the EOMA(cant remember his name "mysticalminer"at the mounment),that one group that started out from the GPAA(for got his name and the orgs name)and now PLP. so this isnt just a west coast issue! this is a nationwide issue of our Constitutional rights! we all have a dog in this fight! and if a person dont think they do, they dont know Jack and dont desearve the right! so the California dredgers and others ask for our (nationwide help) in fighting this wacogreenie/dem ripoff of our rights and now when someone is there to fight for them you rip them a new bunghole? i dont get it! if PLP isnt fighting for our rights, then who is or who will? what group can/will step up for a "nationwide" fight for our rights??? yep PLP has fought or given advice for groups in different states for some time!i completely understand the frustration everyone has over the greenies and the judges that sway towards the greenies way of "dictation" despite what the law says!im completely agree with your frustration/pzzed off and all of that 100%!but again i ask, what do we do to stop this? who will attempt to stop this when they (have in the past) get slamed for trying to help??? ive sent comments/letters/phone calls/donations out the wazzo. ive helped clubs get involved in the fights that have kicked up in different states.but the wacogreenies still use the same old lies and the courts are going for it,again dispite what the laws quote! slamming a person or group on the net doesent do any good for anyone except the wacos that use this info for "theyre" advantage! and it has shown up in the courts as quotes from the net. they even have used pictures we post on the net as evidence! ive seen that in Washington state at the 2007 SWMiners rally in Oroville Washington by the WDFW! acquisations/hearsay/rummors/gut feelins without facts to back them up are just opinions and everyone is entitled to their opinion(right or wrong) .all they do is get the facts misinterprated/misquoted/wrong and that dont help the problem one bit! infact it creats more problems for us small scale miners and the wacogreenies and the dems are doing enough of that! so i guess the old saying of" if your not part of the solution, your part of the problem! so if a person has a complaint, give your resolution for the repair of that problem. not just blowing off steam which we all have aquired over this problem! your help is despretly needed for those that are fighting for our rights! even though some of us have different opinions on certain issues, i respect their opinions/and theyre rights to that opinion! and i have invited some of you to my home while traveling across the country!i still will have my door open to you even though we agree to disagree.CGD/Hoser, John if you take the long way to Alaska this year ,stop on by my home for steak, youd always be welcome! Steve youve had the invite also! now back to the question. what are we going todo to stop this violation of our rights? throwing in the towel isnt a option!

People need to check their sources before posting. Here's an example: Mark Stopher did not say that 8,000 comments were in opposition to suction dredging. Here is what he said, "On May 10, 2011 the public review period for the draft regulations and Draft Subsequent EIR concluded. We received mail, email and fax comments from over 10,000 individuals and organizations. More than 90% were essentially form letters or emails containing variations of similar messages either opposing or supporting mining. Over 800 people attended the six public meetings and many of them spoke or hand delivered additional comments. We are currently reading, sorting and organizing the comments. As we do so we are evaluating what information is influential in reconsidering the impact assessment and draft regulations and preparing to respond in the Final SEIR to the comments."

As to bad-mouthing PLP and others, perhaps the negative folks can do something a little more productive to help besides venting their spleens on public forums.

If you are not actively involved in fighting the socialist take-over of our statutory mining rights, you are part of the problem. Join an activist mining group and help to solve our mining problems.

Russ- WOW!!! that is the most I have seen you type on the forum. It show how passonate you are about your PLP. I do respect you buddy and your opinion.

But the PLP is a LOSS. Loose your money, loose courtcases, then loose your rights. :x :x I can't support loss, or afford to loose anymore.

As always not all miners see it the same but sure glad to see some are seeing it the same way that I am.

If ya all want to send me your money, I can fight all you want and even loose in court, not a problem.

Well, then PLP might need a giant change in personnel and direction. From the top down. Then it might have a better chance in this fight. It is my opinion that the thousands of dollars and countless hours I donated to PLP have been a total waste. When their big chance came, the suit was not only thrown out of the court, it was thrown out with prejudice. What does that tell you? Probably the most knowledgeable and hardest working person that came to this fight was Old 49r... he warned PLP many times that this would happen and if they continued on the path and with the same lawyer it would hurt much more than it helped.

I have no solution to this problem and no one else does either. I am just appealing to folks not to waste their time and money like I have. At this point in time, California is going to have to release 40,000 convicted felons due to a Supreme Court ruling. After something like this happens, do you really think a dredge ban will be enforceable? I see nothing but chaos in the near future. My current and most important battle is to prepare for that chaos.

You, I, nor anyone else cannot fight Indian Money when the State is addicted to it!

very well put Steve! yes you have donated time and money for PLP! i know Jerry and the board are getting up in their years and like all of us,and usually health concerns get worse as a person gets older. PLP is currently looking for new blood to help out and they are looking for state directors. maybe someone with strong convictions and a willingness to fight would be interested in appling for a position when something comes available? if we give up, we are COMPLETLY DONE FOR!
