49ers aside.........why is PLP so bad? they are trying to fight for our rights! who else is going todo this without PLP? a bunch of people alone sending in some comments isnt going to get anywhere real fast! this has been proven many times over!!you have to goto these corrupt courts to fight it and you got to have a lawyer to represent you or you wont go anywhere in court! wh o else is there to fight this fight for our rights?? i dont see anyone else doing this in California,Oregon,Washington,Idaho,or any other state. infact PLP has done so in many states! is there a better lawyer out there to fight this?? probly!theres always a better this or that somewhere in every feild! but can we/you/me afford that person?? probly not.so where do we go from here?? do we still fight for this, or just bend over and prepare for the enevetable? if we continue to fight this for our rights, then whos going to step up to the plate and do ANY better? and if we just stop fighting, then why all the bashing/pzzing and moaning? whats the point? its easy to comeplain and its something else to comeup with a workable solution! whats it going tobe???i really understand people being pzzed about the results weve seen so far from the courts and the courts allowing the wacoenviromentalists to continue lieing and using the same old lies that have been proven tobe lies in the past! but it still continues! my hats off to those "unnamed" individuals that continue to do what they know how to do best, and say PHWWWWWWWT to the green gubermint jerks!

mite be a good ideal to get a bunch of lawers hooked on gold mining. then may be there would be a change.

That is what was done in Oregon 11 years ago. Some of the personal aftermath of that wasn't pretty, but the initial idea and rally kept butts in the water for 11 years.

Good luck gentlemen.

This was the quote from Hoser I meant to post. Civil disobedience was the answer in Oregon. Sorry for posting the quote about PLP as I know nothing of their internal structure.

I'm just thinking out loud here and I'm not a lawyer so I'm not sure that this is even possible.

I have always wondered why the Cal mining claim holders and the Cal manufactures of mining equipment have never filed a class action lawsuit against the State of Cal for damages caused by the ban on dredging in CA. I think it violates the 1872 mining law.
1, The claim holders pay taxes on the claims that they hold and earn revenue from their labor which are taxed as income by the State.
2, The manufactures pay taxes on their business property and the profit they generate from the sale of their products to the miners in Ca and anywhere else that they sell their products to, which is taxed by the state.
3, The service providers that pay taxes on thier property and the lost revenue from sales that generate profit that is taxed by the state. (ie, motels, resturants, pay to play, any other business that does business with the miners and mining community, gas stations, campgrounds, to name a few.
4, The loss of revenue to the miners from the sale of their gold and the loss to the community from the tax revenue that has not been realized.

I would have thought some legal firm would have felt that this would have been a winable case for them to pursue. After all the lawyers are running adds on tv all over the country to get people to bring their problems to them to solve.

As far as I can tell, the mining community has been discriminated against and harmed by this State Law and everybody seems to feel that nothing can be done.

It's all right if you want to chain yourself to a rock while you dredge and hope that the media will bring their cameras and tv anchors to report on your plight. I just don't think anyone cares! :(
I guess I'll just crawl back in my cave and go to sleep.

Dick one of the biggest hurdles is finding a lawyer that REALLY knows the mining laws and their relationship to the other laws(how they apply to them) then you need to see what you can afford. im talking big money! a lot of lawyers will jump at the chance to represent you,but have limited knowledge in the mining laws and how they apply to other laws. a lot of these equipment manufactors contribute to this defense through donations, but wont directly pursue it themselves.Keene,GPAA and others make big donations towards this fight. they are using PLP for this.
