Russ,

it has been a rainy one this year. the USACE is slowing the release at gavin's point a bit, but From Sioux City to Platte City is a friggin' mess in the bottoms.
The Corp has gotten an earfull from Ben Nelson on down. Their master plan is getting a major trashing. I hope it wakes them up to get back to the top priority of these mainstreams dams as flood prevention.. The Aftermath of their mismanagement has cost the area millions if not billions of $$$.

A couple guys here at work have commutes that use to take 20 minutes now taking an hour to get around the water.

Getting to the Nemaha is fairly easy still it is far south and west enough to avoid the worst. Coming from KC i'd get off at St Joe, and go west on 36 then up 75. My wife goes to Leavenworth a couple times a month and she goes this way.

Post Labor Day sounds like a good plan. I will try to get the group motivated on our side. I will be up for it.

I will miss the Douglas trip this year. I do hope you guys have fun.

I will touch base when I get back.

Each day is a littler better than the one before. I'm finally driving again. Some residual weakness on the left side again. PT and regular trips to the gym are helping with that. All in all, I'd say I've made good progress. Should be good to go by next summer.

You staying sane between the storms, the flooding, the hight temps, and the inability to dredge?

Well I'm home got the old neck fused (third time) and now I get to recover for six weeks. Only got to dredge about three hours all together the high water just would not let me out where the big gold was. It tried several times to take me down the rapids downstream, a real thrill ride for sure. I'm just down from the bridge that Leonard was takeing the video from but I tried anyway even with the rocks bouncing down thur there you could hear them. Well there is next year
