Just for peoples information. PLP is in 3 lawsuits. One is with the Eldorado National Forest and we are in the 9th Ciruit Court fighting agains the USFS Travel Management Plan and all of their road closures. The second is against sb 670 which closed all of the waters in ca. to suction dredging, we are in Superior Court and have a hearing on Sept 14th in San Bernardino. We are in the California Appellate Court appealing the Injuction from Judge Roesch to stop the issuance of permits for suction dredging. As Russ said attroneys are not cheap. We are now prepairing to take on AB120 on the 5 year Moratorium.

When we do the shows we have travel expense and we have to do all of the shows including the ones back east. We have West law which is expensive as well and newsletter. Just to do an appeal is about $5,000 just to print it up not counting the attorney fees. We use Westlaw for research that is another monthly big expense. We have a bookeeper and auditor. We paid a DR. of Science to do a right up against the new proposed dredging regulations and on and on. We are sorry that some of you do not realize the expenses that are psoted on the websites.

At one time we posted our future and present plans on the websites but it didn't take long for us to realize that when we did, the enviros were there before us because they also read the websites. If any of you have questions we will attemt to answer them. My phone number is all over the place but here it is again 909-889-3039.

id say look to those that didnt help in the fight for our rights! they are the ones that scr#wed the pouch, and helped the greenies win by theyre not helping! now look for the claim holders to be one of the next targets! who will be there for them? and its going to cost lots of money! without banding together, what chance does anyone have? this perdicament is just what the greenies want to see!us fighting amungst ourselves! remember the saying,"United we fight, divided we fall". this is just exactly whats happening and will continue to be our downfall!

I'd like to step in just a bit, If you knew me personally you would know I'm all about gold dredging. I talk about it all day long at work or where ever I go just to try and find others that are also interested in the hobby. I was amazed at out of the half a dozen or so people that I ran into that were active dredgers, they did not even know about some of the legislation that was going against us. all they knew is they couldn't dredge for some reason. They knew I was following all the BS so they would ask me for updates all the time.

My point here is, they didn't care enough to educate themselves about all the issues and help defend those rights. These people were not contributing to the legal funds, They were not sending emails, faxes, or making phone calls. These are the people you should be angry with, not PLP. If the Majority of the miners are not willing to step up to the plate and defend our rights, who will?

I know for a fact that 75% of gold prospectors don't even own a computer, they're out of the loop with what is going on with our rights!

In today's era if you don't have a computer and depend on the TV networks and radio to know what is going on (both of these venues have a preset plan/agenda with what they will tell you with what is happening) you will be behind the times and not know what is going on day to day with what interests you have in life.

I try to update these people when I run into them in my day to day life, it's these people that we needs to get onboard with this fight, granted there are some that knows what is happening that don't lift a finger, but IMHO not as many as ya'll think are not fighting, just because you don't see them posting about what they did "today" for our fight doesn't mean they are doing nothing!!!

Also I believe that the more we post about what/how we're "taking the fight to them" the more ammo we give them to fight back with. I willing to bet for every post that that states that "I sent this comment to the Governor", or a request to "contact him with your comments" you will have 10 comments sent in from our foes, we're far outnumbered in this fight and we have to plan our fight knowing this, sometimes silence is golden, it would be better to contact everyone via email or PM to let them know what you doing, or to form an attack, Jerry has seen this first hand and now the PLP doesn't post what they're doing, I was a little shocked to see what he's posted in this thread!!!!

I know that by not posting what is going on and what we're doing will allow some to become complacent in this fight but when you're fighting a war you don't post your battles plans on the internet for your enemies to form a counterattack!!!

That my 2 cents and why you don't see me posting what I do in this fight on a day to day basis, I think it fine to rally the troops on in public view, but leave the "attack plan" only in private settings.

Skip

Edit: I had a thought about how we could keep everyone updated on this fight and keep our foes from knowing what we're planning.

On a few forums I'm a member of they have a cub as well and have a forum section for the club, the club forum section has a separate password and if you're not a member of the club you can't see what is in the club's forum section, I think all of the gold forums should have such a section for the planning of what we're doing and if you're not a "known" gold person or friendly to our cause you don't get access to that section.

GS thats a good idea of a private forum w/password protection. ive also seen it and agree with it! being a PLP member, i get countless emails from PLP daily on whats going on and i totally agree that some things/plans/tactics cant be displayed for all to see. MojaveJoe had a good idea setting up his website that was protected. i just couldnt open his documents that he sent me or any other document. i still cant even veiw Leonards videos.Joe tried to help me figure out this and i downloaded many programs to assist me but it still dont work. i (unfortunatly) dont have the bucks right now to have someone (who knows anything about computors)come over and figure it out. you mentioned miners not having access or computors to know whats going on,ive tried to talk to people/clubs/forums from east coast to the west coast, and it seems that a lot of people just dont want to "waste" their time doing this! or they just dont reply!ive been told not to post mining/legal/enviromental issues on some of their sites.

Russ,

Unfortunately the only way you're going to solve some of your computer woes, is to upgrade to today's current standard. I realize that takes $, and being on a fixed income, like we are, makes it darn difficult. Thank God for kids!!

If any of you miners live in RussAu's neck of the woods, and have the time, talent, and treasure, give him the help and assistance he deserves. Time, talent, and treasure, are nice to have in this day and age, but some of us only have the time, and talent.
