Just so you guys know,I and a fellow club member went to 3 of the meetings with DFG on the dredging ban. As a matter of fact I was mentioned in the ICMJ article on these meetings.(The dredging biker from the dark side.) My fellow club members had a hay-day with that! You ought to see the T-shirt that our membership director had made for me!! That's part of the reason I sounded off earlier, there was no real representation from any of the so called"fighters" for us there.I met M.Joe at the meeting in Downieville. My opinion there were no shows of opposition or protests! Just a wait and see what happens attitude all the way through! Dumb move!!!

i try to keep a set of pans in the truck and on the bike. when i get a chance i will hit a creek or river just to check things out. some times i will have a few ask questions. i will even show them if they are very nice how to pan. you should see the looks i get when they ask if you can make money doing this. i tell them well you could of a few years ago, untill calafronia put a ban on dreaging. they think i am lieing. some have come back to me after looking on the net and then ask are thing really that bad. then i ask them do you have a drip pan for your car. and i get that look. our milltary must put a pan under every motor when they stop just incase there is one drop of oil. how bad do you think it is. the even check and yes every truck even in the parking lot at our local army has a drip pan under it.

Being an ex biker I believe a show of force works to show polititions what their voting against. Why didn't we have a mass protest at the capitol building. A couple hundred dredges out front would bring out the news crews. The same in the water would have done the same. But folks today are forced to act like sheep and just go along with the flow. We were told NOT to do anything to draw undue attention to this subject. Why not???????? The greenies sure did!!!!! Oh well, to late now!!! Good luck trying.

I've been asking myself that very question since the Moratorium sb670 was put in place and no one was refunded their dredge permit fees. As far as i can tell that's fraud, accepting funds under false pretenses.
I believe the whole issue was against the law and the State of CA was the party that committed the fraud. But the businesses and people just let them get away with it.
The government can discriminate and nobody does anything to stop it.
I guess the miners and businessmen got what they wanted. :(

there were several attempts to rally in Sacremento in front of the capital building. Steve (ElDorado) Wandt started to organize it but few showed up.i think some guys from out of state did show up though! i think theres a picture of him in front of the capital building on this site somewhere. you would think there would have been a large turnout of California dredgers/manufactors/mining shop owners there to support this! but........

There was no notification of this sent out to anyone.I am on numerous web sites to follow this. I and my friends were waiting for something organized to be done. And as far as fraud goes this whole thing is fraud on the part of Cali.goes. Mining claims are federal, with federal laws. So for Cali. to do this goes against federal laws, but what do you expect when they are giving out permits to grow pot, that IS against federal laws. This program was on PBS last night. Cali. is trying to become it''s own independent state.(Soviet Socialist State of California) I hope China moves in and takes over!!! I'd let them!!!!

Without getting the Press and Media on their side, the mining community was unable to mount sufficient resistance to the CA State government to affect a positive change.
Keene and Proline will continue to sell dredges to third world countries and to people in the US that can still dredge, but I expect this cancer will spread through out the US.
I see this as a modern day Prohibition on dredging same as went on over alcohol in the 20's
What may have worked first would have been every dredger in the state do a "dredge in", Pick a location in a navigable river or several and take full page adds out in the Sacramento and LA papers telling everybody what they were going to do and WHY, then defy the State to act.
It's showing the people that the dredgers were being oppressed and selling it to the media.

Comments any one? :?:

Dick i agree with you and there still maybe a dredge-in. and yes, it would need a lot of publicity to have any effect! some people did get into the news about whats going on and about mining persay! i even got on a news clip for here in St.Louis awhile back. but it hardly rippeled the waters so to say!
