One of the shows Connie and I did this summer as we continue to sell the gems and jewelry we're making from prospecting.

This happens every year and is a big draw around the midwest.

Russ: you should make it a point to go. There's much more to one of these than the old tractors, you never know what you're going to find or see (there was a rock shop at Denton displaying).

Dick: we were at the Old Thresher's show in Wausean, Ohio (their 64th). At night they fired up all the steam engines and had a "sparks" show.

Thanks Hoser!

Hi Matt & Connie & Hoser:

Just a tidbit for you folks. My grandfather was a stationary engineer and ran a steam RR crane and or the steam engine that ran the line shaft for American Shipbuilding. They built and repaired the Ore boat the worked the Great Lakes.

I was in grammer school, and my dad took me to see where grandpa worked one saturday. I got to watch him stoke the boiler and ride the crane for a little bit. Memories that stay with you for life!

I've got lots of memories from the Steam Age and like gold fever, it never goes away.
