I checked the Granite Gage Station, and the Arkansas is still running more than I would like. 420 cfs compared to usual of less than 300 cfs this time of year.
Oh, well. I am still going.

Ed,

What days are you going to be up there? Jenni and I will be up on Sept 3rd (That's next Sat, right?).

I'll be up there all week, bringing my little 2.5 inch contraption. That hole that we worked last year with Leonard was pretty good. You started it, right?
It should be accessible at these water levels....

I will be arriving at the claim on Monday August 29th. I will be there until the 9th or 10th. Nice, long weekend for Labor Day.
Please do stop by. Mrs Argo will be there for a good part of the time.

It looks like Dave and I will be on the High Hopes saturday afternoon. The place we planned on going to in southern colorado is running out of water. I've been there and done that so I don't need to repeat. High Hopes here we come saturday! The 4" dredge is all loaded!

I have to go to Salida monday also. I can't find last years permit so I have to get another one. We will probably dredge sunday anyway.

Hot damn!
I like dredging with Leonard! My permit is for my 2 1/2. But it has air. I know where we can really float both yours and mine, and actually get underwater.

Sweeeeeet.

Leonard,

Just got back from the place in southern colorado you were talking about, and you're right about the water running out. cobill and i met up there this past tuesday. actually I got there monday very late and sleep in the car as I had no idea where I was - passed first campsite, and was at the no trespassing gate (locked) to some farmers land. next morning i got turned around and located camp. did spot of big mtn lion near camp 2 on my way in. was super nice to actually clean off bedrock, using cobill's 5" modified dahlke (very big, and awkward handling, but moves the material!). i think we were about 300 yards south of the power lines that signify off limits. okjohn and rd & i believe dave? showed up thursday. okjohn showed me the nugget you guys found last time you were there.(very nice looking) i got home late this afternoon, and i'll try to get to high hopes sunday mid-day, or monday. hope to meet all you there. are you going to call and let okjohn know you're not going to show up down south?

will i need to get a permit to dredge with you guys? i would think not as i don't have a dredge, just helping out, plus i don't have any hooka gear. the less the blm know's about me, the better. if i don't crash and burn, i'll show up sunday or monday, as going south and back has wore me out. i'm plum tired! one of the tent poles broke tuesday, and sleeping bag got super wet during a 45 minute thunder/rain storm thursday, and skeeters ate me alive whole time there. if i stay overnight, i'll get a cheap motel in buena vista or leadville, unless someone wants to put me up and can stand my snoring. cobill will attest to the loud noise I can make. i'll probably make a day trip so I can meet different like minded people, and put faces to names.
