I'd like to thank Leonard and Ed for another GREAT Arkansas River trip. We had an awesome time with all the wildlife (human and otherwise), comraderie, and downhome hospitality. We left the claims on Tuesday evening (it got colder and wetter), headed down to Golden to see some friends and hit Clear Creek for a little highbanking action. We finally got back to the house Sunday, it was 6:00 p.m. by the time we got the vehicles unloaded and were able to relax. We haven't gone through our cons yet but we're bound to have lots of that fine Arkansas river gold mixed in with the great memories. We used the 2 1/2" dredge option on my highbanker for 8 days in the same hole. I was impressed with the size of the hole we made with that little machine, maybe it's a good thing that I didn't get the 4" this year, I would have dug all the way to bedrock. As it was, we found a clay layer a couple of feet down and cleaned about 400 sq/ft of it.
BellaBug was a real trooper on the long rides from and back to Texas.
