The river fell almost three feet from Labor Day weekend till we left camp on 9/13.
We found a clinker in the cons from the Clear Creek bench deposit we worked on 9/15. Not huge but sure sounds nice when dropped into the pan. We still have about 5 gallons of concentrates from the High Hopes to go through.

I would think that it is really pretty hard to run a dredge underwater with the current running that hard. It seems like they close the river to dredging when the river slows down enough to actually get in it. I have been looking at all the videos both here and on Randy's forum and It would be great to run in a kayak or raft, but trying to stay on the bottom while running a nozzle would be tough!

I would think that from the 15th of sept to freeze up would probably be the best time to get in the water dredging, plus you probably won't get run down by a raft or clunked on the head with a paddle. HA HA

Glad you all had a great time.

The way dredging season is set, you'd think BLM knows this and purposely set's it the way it is. This way, nobody get gold other than the flakes it does, along with the fines. Correct me Leonard & Ed, as you've been at dredging, and on the Arkansas longer than me.
