reminds me of a sand and gravel plant close to my home. but they go down 150 ft. in the old Mississippi River channel (5-8 miles from the current river)with their clamshell bucket for all kinds of goodies.before the frezze comes they dump the contents of their hoppers down a drain and back into the tailings race. we went there and got a lot of the tailings from this before it got dumped and it had a lot of fine gold in it. and best part ,it was free for the takeing!

if you can get on a sand and gravle op its good. we can find a lot of gold that way. its not a lot for the big guys to mess with but knowing what to look for can be a good thing. in the book gold and diamonds in indiana. one sand operation the guy found quite abit of gold, when they were building I70.
