New Mining Tax Proposed

Postby Hoser John » Tue Dec 20, 2011 7:47 am

"H.R, 3446, the "Fair Payment for Energy and Minerals Production on Federal Lands Act," is anything but fair to American workers, mining communities and the economy. H.R, 3446 would result in the world's highest gross royalty, a tax of 12.5 percent on all future minerals production on federal lands. This enormous new tax would stifle job-creating investments and increase U.S. dependence on foreign sources for minerals vital to American manufacturers, technological innovation and national defense."

Whilst we are all warm and fuzzy with the Christmas buzz the bureauratz are trying to TAX a beleagured industry to death. I'd ask whatz next but.............. :o John

... a tax of 12.5 percent on all future minerals production on federal lands.

Brilliant politicians. Over regulate, constrict, constrain, restrict access to Fed lands, close lands to mineral exploration, ban dredging, etc. Then they get a brilliant idea to tax the very industry they are killing.
Too late, dumbazz...12.5 percent of nothing is still nothing!

if you google this HR 3446 youll see/read that this wasnt written by a socalled "representative" of ours but by some green lawyer bent on filling in the gaps of their assault on Americans rights under the Congressionally given 1866/1872 mining laws. youll also see where they have a section to leave your comment. i did! i wonder how many "dislaikes" ill get on it or how long itll be there before its removed? pay particular attention to sec. 552 but all of them have tidbits of info that we wont like!

COPY:

"Track H.R. 3446 [111th]
Because this bill was introduced in a previous session of Congress, no more action can occur on it."

This was introduced last session and failed passage. However, Congresswoman Richardson (CA) can re introduce it as many times as she wants, to have it voted on.

Way out of touch with reality, IMHO :(
