highbanking works at Leonards claim,as well as the GPAA claims. dredgeing is prefered by me! i got some snow and sleet on me a few years back when coming into the area just above the flats, but that was about 3:30AM June 29th it didnt last long but it got me thinking! no need for chains John! warm cloths during the evening events and in the morning for coffee! set the wetsuits out in the sun and let them warm up before slipping into them! the water is cold but itll warm up once you get moving around under water dredgeing!

with such a great invite that Leonard is giving to all, parking maybe a little awkward if you dont get there early! remember the Cheyenne GPAA chapter meets up there for their outtings! i bet they wont have as good refreashments as we will have!there still should be plenty of firewood for our small campfires in the evening!

Here's a link to the old forum with a lot of info about Douglas Creek. I'm looking for the maps that were put on the forum a few years ago. I'll post the link when I find them.

I'll be bringing my 3" Proline dredge/highbanker combo. If anyone coming has a swivel tip that would fit, please bring it. It will help me make up my mind if I want to get one. Thank.

I've never seen anyone do much highbanking either on my claim or anywhere else. Dredging is by far the best as the gold seems to be down a few feet. If you want to try it, thats ok but you will have to fill your holes. We don't have any currently on the claim.

Yes, I suggest you boys get your dredging in, just a matter of time before those days will be gone. Good Luck!!!

Leonard - To simplify matters, I will leave my unit at home. For those of you that are coming out, I sincerely ask that if you have an extra XL wet suit, bring it. (I'm 5'9" 210) I'll check on my end. I'm able to get into my chest waders, but they would only be good for long arming. However, as long as the depth where the dredge is, isn't that deep, I can fill the duties of dredge tender.

Russ - Is 63 considered "an old fart"?
