I just got back from NM. Rained where we were but didn't flood. More on that later. I had trouble getting home as I-25 was shut down. No way around it. I parked in a shopping center for about 1 1/2 hour and watched the road and finally they opened it up and I made it home.

It's raining again today with flash flood watch almost everywhere. We're dong fine other that trying to get all of our water pipes cleared out. There was a water main break about 1500 feet up the road and the flood filled the main pipes with mud and that got down into our household system. The toilrt looked like I dumped about a gallon of mud into it. I ran water through the hot water heater for a couple of hours and got it from looking like coffee to tooking like a very watered down tea. It's ok to use for anything but drinking. We're using bottled water for that.

:? Wow what a welcome home ordeal. Faucet aireators plugged is another problem. Doesn't your hot water heater have a bottom drain valve to remove sludge? Dishwashers have filters also on some models. Toilet tanks and on and on .Sorry for any /all victims of these insane deluges  and fall ain't even started o sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssst-John :(

Here's a picture of the road near our house. The trees way back in the background through the small gap on the right are mine. The big hole in the road is where a 8", 175 pound pressure pipeline broke and washed out the road. Thats where the mud in my waterline came from. My house is to the right of the tree clump on the left by about 500 feet.
