This is what the sample looked like. Some quartz and a lot of yellow discoloration. The rocks were decomposed and soft. Pretty easy digging.
Just in case you figured that my hands don't fit anything other than a dredge nozzle, I included the last picture.
This wasn't just a posed picture and I'm not doing my Hank Thompson Jr. imitation with the sunglasses. I wear photo gray glasses and they always look dark in pictures. While I was down there I dug up a bucket of material and then filled my pan. It's still sitting in the back of my truck. I can find the place again though if there's a bunch of gold in it. If you need a pick, these Estwing picks are the greatest.
