Ahhh..."The Rock"...on South Fork Umpqua River at River's West RV Park, and sadly no more dredging there. Oregon liberals took our gold-finding fun away, but sure enjoyed those DEF days and memories...and the nice gold many of us found back in those days. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

Happy Thanks giving to you also Dave! I was all set to drive up there for the 2000 rally BUT surgery got in my way for the next 2 years , But I did eventually make it to the 2003 rally in Ball Ground Georgia. That's where I got to be good friends with Geno.

Hi Russ,

I missed the 2000-01 DEF events but we sure had a good time at DEF2002 and we came back in 2003, '04 and '05. Others did a lot better but we did have one 17.3 dwt day with my 4" Keene dredge working on a diagonal bedrock dike a quarter mile up river from the RV park. Had a huge crowd in 2002 and there were lots of people in the SF Umpqua River on that event. The days efforts were celebrated each night with Bill Brews great beer. Leonard has some good pictures from DEF 2002 and I met many of you fine miners there. Good memories of days back when we could dredge in Oregon. Cheers

I sure would like to see those days come back! Even though Im not able todo what I used to do , I still would enjoy seeing others have a chance to enjoy what we had back then!
