Hydrolic mining?

I know of the hydrolic mining of the past and that it was banned in Calif.
My question is,....
Is there any law against using water pressure from a 1 1/2" line to remove material from a sand/gravel bar that is located within a stream? The stream divides and goes around both sides of the bar.

I'm not sure exactly where it is in the regs., but you are restricted to a 3/4" MAX hose diameter for washing / flushing.

Thanks rivraton, I can do that.
I wasn't sure if it would still be concidered "high banking", but I believe I'm O.K. in that respect due to the fact that I will be working within the stream. ( below the high water line )

There is NO size restriction and your absolutely right about BELOW the water line BUT just ask GO what happens when ya put dry into wet--plenty a trouble of that you can bet. Luckily, the sand and gravel are moist. Water is seeping under the bar in several places. The bar is lying on bedrock. I'm using the hose to wash material into a pile onto bedrock, shoveling into screens, then running through my sluice. Seems to be working just fine. Spent all of Sat. working the bar and am having good results.
I do wish I could legaly use a dredge though.

Dredge smedge. That machine is a dryland cobble re-locator. You'd be fine!
