There was a water main break about 1500 feet up the road and the flood filled the main pipes with mud and that got down into our household system. The toilrt looked like I dumped about a gallon of mud into it. I ran water through the hot water heater for a couple of hours and got it from looking like coffee to tooking like a very watered down tea. It's ok to use for anything but drinking. We're using bottled water for that.

I'm thankful you haven't been flooded. All the rest can be worked out. Having been through a major flood, I would wish that on no one. Stay safe!

Hey Russ,

You got to love it! When the Arkansas settles down and clears, there should be some good flood gold.

Actually, there was no flooding on the Arkansas, just on the front range.

I made the comment about flood gold as Randy had email me 14 Sept, and said the Arkansas was muddy and the places he posted that showed his sisters were sluicing was under water now. I know it was the front range that got hit bad with flooding and such. There was a lot of rain in the Buena Vista area though. None the less, the gold will work it's way into the Arkansas with all the rain in that area.

the mud isn't the problem. Getting there is. The roads are all washed out and anything that has a bridge over it is washed out or closed.
